That's the problem when you uproot and resettle in a new community...so many new stimuli...and at times,it's a bit overwhelming. We have been blessed beyond measure to meet and be adopted by a community of passionate, compassionate Jesus lovers and I am more convinced than ever that this is God's plan for our lives.
Our family is being extended and it is truly a glorious thing, but still at times, I need to retreat a little to recharge and sit with Abba Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit and know that I am home. To know that even though there is change...I am loved by the Unchanging One and that He is my ultimate safe place.
In the midst of all this newness I am collaborating with amazingly talented musicians on a new album and this has been a gift. To bring to life a new bunch of songs with other people who add their unique personalities and abilities to the mix. My last album was a completely solo effort and a wonderful couple of years worshipping my God at home every day and I would not change it.
But this is a new season and with it comes a new sound and a beautiful opportunity to work in community. The Sound...the journey of this new album...'To Write on Our Hearts' has so far been fun and surprising. The most surprising aspect has been the emergence of the sound...organically...allowing the songs to be...just to be.
The rhythm, the flow, the drive and the spaces...not to mention...the mandolin!
I'm so excited about the way it is slowly, steadily coming together and I look forward to sharing the journey of this new season...one of family and of beautiful simplicity laced with subtle complexity... one which is fixed firmly on living in the Presence of our Heavenly Father, our awesome Saviour, Jesus Christ and our teacher, guide and closest confidant...Holy Spirit!
