Whether it be sectarian violence in Syria and Southern Sudan or Iraq or young men engaging in seemingly senseless, alcohol fuelled violence on our own streets…people are lost…they don’t know where they belong and they will engage in behaviours that may tend towards the extreme in order to find it or to protect that sense once they find it.
I know it sounds simplistic, and it probably is, but it has struck me nonetheless.
Orphans are everywhere, be they literal or figurative…everyone longs to belong…so many feel isolated and disenfranchised.
As a daughter of God…my call is to show them the Father that has his arms open wide…who longs to gather them in and whisper words of love.
I get to show them my amazing Jesus…whose love knows no bounds…
I get to introduce them to my closest confidant…Holy Spirit…my teacher…my guide and my friend.
If you know that you are a loved son or daughter of God today…celebrate…if you don’t…you should be able to look at my life…talk to me and get a glimpse of God…if not then I need to look at whether I truly know who I am in Christ…I can only give what I have received.
My calling on earth is to help you understand that God loves you and wants to call you his child…that you BELONG…
